The superfluity and the flooding of the evil and of the sin undoubtedly saw the great and unmistakable eye of God. He saw, that the sin multiplied; that the evil surplused.
He saw however something else as well, something that the human eye cannot see. He also saw the source, from where it was coming this cataclysm of evil.
That is, He saw also the hearts of these people who carried out and acted the so many evils. And He got convinced, that this source was not possible by itself to dry up, but had the disposition to continually bring forth and spill the poison of the sin.
And God saw that «everybody's thoughts in their hearts were only evil during all days».
The evil, that had flooded the earth, was not a transient phenomenon from some carelessness and some lightness created. It was a disease chronic and incurable, because it had its origin in the minds and in the hearts of each one of the people.
And it was not only a group of people who thought and desired and wanted the evil. It was the whole, because «each one» was meditating within his heart cunning thoughts.
And so except of one and only family, the family of Noah, there was not any other group of people, which God could use as yeast in order to transform little by little with the example of the few the bad habits of the many.
And not only he was lured simply due to weakness each one towards the evil, but he was also meditating it well in his heart diligently.
Each one of these words of the Holy Scripture has a very deep meaning. And it describes each one very vividly the deep corruption and demoralization of the people of that epoch.
They meditated these people the evil in their hearts, in their souls, diligently, without getting lazy and inactive ever in the study and meditation and activity of the evil.
Their mind therefore had been distorted and none ever was capable to conceive and to cogitate healthy thought and moral principle.
And to the service and to the dark orders of one such twisted intellect they had devoted themselves with every diligence and with all in general their spiritual strengths.
And this happens not simply and only during a period of their lifes, when, let's say, they were young and the blood of the youth was boiling inside of them. But it was happening «all their days». Thus they were completely corrupted and consciously cunning these people.
And God sees this corruption and demoralization of His creature. He sees it not as an apathetic and indifferent spectator. He sees it as a Lord, whom His servant despises; as the Despot of everything, whom the worm of the earth, the man, does not take into account at all.
He sees it as he sees a tender father at his child, which dishonors him, which brings shame, to his name, which despises his love, which hurts him on a daily basis in the heart and forces him from the depths of his entrails to say: it would be better if I didn't have a child.
This He says now also God, the benevolent, but also saint and fair God. The most extreme corruption and cunningness of the people is hated in front of His holiness.
When you, who are accustomed to clean yourself every day and to wash your hair often, you see in front of you someone like you, but dirty, full of pests, with stinky clothes, with the hair on his head full of mud and dirt, with the mustache and the beard full of the dirt of his nose and of his mouth, it certainly disgusts you.
And how then do you expect not to be disgusted the saint, the One above all purity brighter Lord with your own soul, which the sin makes more dirty and more disgusting in front of His eyes that the dirtiest and most disgusting thing, that you can imagine on the earth?
God sees the wickedness and He gets furious and as fair and saint, that he is, he never tolerates this impure pollutant to mess up with His pure clean creation and to dishonor His totally bright Kingdom.
«And God said, «I will sweep away the man, whom I created, from the face of the earth, from man up to cattle and from reptiles up to birds of the sky».
It's over now. The forbearance of God got exhausted. It passed even the last time limit, for which God postponed to express His wrath. And nothing remains now but to appear with all of it's terrifying magnificence the relentless justice of God.
Behold, my reader, with how much severity God expresses Himself. «I will sweep away», He says. I will wipe him out. I will clean up the place from this stink that is called man.
I will erase him literally in a way that will not remain no trace of him. I will wipe out the man «whom I created», whom I myself have created.
And even if he is My own creation, this would not prevent Me to carry out this decision of Mine, because this creation of Mine has escaped from the scope, for which I created it. And thus I, who am his creator, I become at the same time his destroyer as well.
«Whom I created». Exactly because I created him, he should be grateful to Me and to obey Me and to have fear of Me. Exactly because I created him, he should recognize Me as his governor and as his lord and as his despot.
But he now forgets of his duties towards Me and shows himself to be ungrateful and not appreciative to his Creator. Therefore I shall destroy him.
And thus, my reader, He Who is our Creator, will become our destroyer and exterminator, in case that we will not want to make Him governor of our life and Guide of out acts.
And I will not only eliminate the man from the earth, says God, but also the beasts and the serpents and the birds of the sky.
All these when I created them, for the sake of the man I created them. And since now the man is being eliminated, together with him will be eliminated also these that were created for him.
These must be eliminated, because the man made bad use of them. Instead of seeing them and praise Me, instead of using them and thank Me, he used them in order to become carnal, in order to serve even more his bestial pleasures, in order to become more intractable and disobedient.
Disaster therefore widespread and terrifying God is preparing against man and against every form of life that was found on earth. From this disaster however it will happen, always under the will of God, that one man will be saved together with his three children. This man is Noah. «But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord».
He is one man. And yet God distinguishes him. Within the innumerable crowd of the many this one is not lost. The Eye of God watches him, distinguishes him, notices him, follows him.
He is just one. Thus therefore before God issues His terrible decision, He examined the people one by one. He found them all cunning and for this reason He elimines them.
He is just one. And God has so high esteem for him, as He doesn't have for the many, the innumerable crowd of the people.
They are numerous, renowned, and giants they are, God however rejects them and He deplores them. And He watches the One.
Even if he is just one. It is enough that he is chosen. The quality and not the quantity is liked by God. Even if he is just one. It is enough that his heart is pure and free from the corruption of the sin.
Even if you are just one, my reader. What does it matter? Noah was also one. You can as well be worth in the eyes of God more than what is worth the whole world. As he was worth back then Noah too. It is enough if you want and it is enough if you try.
Truly; what a nice ambition that it is, when someone wants God to estimate him! when someone seeks to be pleasant to God and for God to recognize him as one of His own!
«But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord». And rightly so.
Because just cogitate, my reader, how did he restrain himself this man living inside that flood of evil; how didn't he get carried away himself too in this unrestrained current of sin, in which all his contemporaries had been carried away.
Do you think, that this is a small thing? And do you imagine the the fair Noah had lesser temptations to defeat and few obstacles to overcome? Do not doubt, that even by force they must have tried many times his contemporaries, if it would be possible, to seduce him.
«Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord». Certainly in the eyes of his contemporaries he must not have found any grace. Since he wasn't similar to them in the defects and in the ideas, nobody must have liked his company. And maybe is possible that they must have hated him and persecuted him.
For him however it was enough, that God favoured him and liked him. This was sufficient relief and consolation and reinforcement for the isolated in that wretched world fair Noah.
«Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord». And without a doubt Noah could feel it due to the peace, which his heart was experiencing; with all in general the goods, that brings with her the grace of God, when she is abundantly poured in the heart of the man.
«Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord». What else did he wanted and what else did he needed?
The Hole Scripture vividly emphasizes the virtue and the devoutness of Noah. «Noah, it says, was a just man, being perfect in his generation, Noah pleased God».
Contrary to the impiety and injustice, that predominated back then among his contemporaries, Noah was a just man, knowing and keeping his duties and his responsibilities both towards God, as also towards his fellow men.
He was a perfect man in his generation. In comparison to his epoch and especially living within a generation corrupt and cunning, Noah was perfect.
There was nothing, which God could have asked from a man of that epoch living in the middle of a generation perverted and cunning and which Noah had not kept faithfully and exactly.
And of course, when it is about to be judged the virtue of a man to find out what it is, they will be taken into consideration also the circumstances, under which it was reached this virtue, and the obstacles, that were surmounted for this virtue.
And because Noah lived in an epoch absolutely sinful and in a generation exceptionally corrupted, for this reason his virtue is brighter and his perfection more complete.
And repeats the Scripture again: «Noah pleased God». It praises and exalts in this way even more the virtue and the perfection of Noah.
And it declares and ensures, that the virtue of Noah was not just praised by some man, who as a man it was possible that he could err. He was found to be pleasant before God and from God Himself.
And as if He wanted the Holy Spirit to manifest His love towards this blessed man, He repeats once and twice and thrice and multiple times the name of Noah, and in only three lines and three verses five times it is mentioned by the Scripture this venerable and God loving name, Noah.
But Noah did not certainly live alone. He also had a wife. He also had three children, of whom the names the Holy Scripture mentions and were the following: Shem, Ham and Japheth.
Whether the children resembled in everything to their father, the Scripture does not mention it to us.
And by not mentioning it to us, and especially by not emphasasing it as it emphasized it for Noah, it means that these children had of course a very big difference from the other children of the world and certainly they had not deviate nor had they been corrupted, their father however they could not reach in the virtue and in the perfection.
The same we can say for the women also of these children, of whom not even the names the Holy Scripture mentions.
Whatever the matter is, the certain is, that together with Noah they will now be saved also the wife and the children and the daughters-in-law of Noah.
That means for someone to have blessed husband and father in law and father. For his sake the blessing falls to the whole house and together with him they are saved and they escape all those who live inside the house.
And God does not take long to reveal the big favor, that He maintains towards Noah. And He reveals it with an air of familiarity, that a friend demonstrates to a friend and a tender father demonstrates to a beloved and a very precious son.
God converses and discusses with Noah. Even more; He announces to Noah His decision and His plan. He makes him a partner in His decisions and He reveals to him His secrets.
«And He said God the Lord to Noah; The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth».
It has come, He says, the time for each one of all the people, who inhabit the earth. The time has come for all the people, because the earth now has been filled and flooded with injustice. The evil has abounded.
The time has come of their end and of their death. This cannot continue any further. It is time to be annihilated.
And thus behold, I, that I hold in My hands the whole world and anything I say and decide happens right away, behold that I destroy these cunning people and together with them I dismantle every vegetation and life as well, that exist on the earth, because these for them I had created.
